Bryan had a birthday last weekend...and turned old. Okay, okay, he's not that old. I suppose you can't really be called old until 30, right? So he's got 2 more years being young...
Zeb was so thrilled to be included in the planning, wrapping, and decorating process this year. So excited, in fact that the day before the big party while we were wrapping the gifts he just had to call Daddy at work and yell, "Surprise! Happy Birthday Daddy!". I guess the phone call was all he needed to hold him over for the next however-many-hours until we could start celebrating.
Bryan spent his birthday morning playing basketball at a local park with some buddies so we tagged along and played on the playground. When we got home Bryan went upstairs to "freshen up" (meaning cut his hair and shower) and Zeb and I got to work decorating. As soon as Bryan came down the stairs Zeb yelled (once again), "Surprise! Presents Daddy!". Present opening, sword fighting, steaks for dinner, and some good old-fashioned Super Mario Brothers made the day just what Daddy wanted.
Luckily we got a few pictures before all the hullabaloo started. Once we really got started the camera was completely forgotten. Bryan had a wonderful birthday and then got to continue the celebrating the next day with a family dinner. He gets to share his birthday dinner with Calie...and oh boy! was it a delicious dinner and fun party! Bryan's favorite part of the meal was, of course, dessert. He just can't have a birthday without Cherry Berries on a Cloud. Sadly there are no pictures - maybe not so sadly because that means it was super yummy! Maybe we'll remember to get some pictures next year. To top it all off, we got to talk with Gpa and Gma Downs while the whole family was gathered together. They are enjoying their mission so far and being such great examples to all of us! What a great ending to a great birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRYAN - WE LOVE YOU!
