Fun and Busy - part 1

July was a very busy month for us (thus the lack of blogging)! We had so much fun at home...and away from home that it was hard to keep up. The last week of July was spent away from home. We started it off by heading to the Sagers clan. We spent a very fun filled day at Seven Peaks (local water park).
Just taking a break...poor Erick got a headache...too much fun in the sun!

Abigail napped with Gma while Zeb and Gpa continued to play! Zeb loved the life jacket (and we loved the florescent colors...so easy to spot!).

Bryan tried and tried...but failed to convince me to go on the Freefall. Some things we just don't agree on.

Loving the big slides! It was so hard to get Zeb ready to leave. He was having way too much fun!

We did fireworks to celebrate Pioneer Day. Love those screamers...

We took advantage of babysitters and saw the last Harry Potter film (loved it!). We relaxed and baked cookies (delicious!). All this was done in 2 short days. On the third day we started the trek north to Washington for a Porter family reunion and to celebrate Gma Porter turning 80. It was so nice to be able to caravan for the majority of the drive (without stopping in Utah it would have been at least 24 hours - not counting stops for potty breaks, gas, food, etc.) and have some extra company in our car! We listened to books, sang silly songs (found another dinosaur song to add to the list of favorites...haha!), slept, and so on and so forth. After finally arriving at Diamond Lake, the next bunch of fun began. We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast right on Diamond Lake and it was beautiful! We could literally walk out the back door and be in the lake...after going down about 100 steps (okay, maybe not 100...but I doubt anyone counted so I'm safe exaggerating!). Zeb was in heaven! The weather was perfect for nearly constant playtime in the lake.

Fun was had by all on the paddle boat (except maybe Gpa Porter and Sterling when they almost sank on the opposite side of the lake from our dock)...

...and canoes (Zeb and Parley got to paddle the canoe all by themselves! Thanks for holding the guide rope Uncle Paul!)...

...Someone (I think it was Doran) found the perfect homemade diving board for the dock. We all had to stand on the plank to balance the diver (and had to switch sides after Bryan broke the plank by trying to bounce too high!). Now we had a better range for trying to jump through an old tire...

...and the kayaks (except maybe Gpa Sagers who forgot to put sunscreen on his legs. Ouch!).  Overall the water was pure enjoyment!

Friday night we had a program complete with Gpa Porter sharing some cowboy poetry (always a highlight), a family sing-along with Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (check the spelling if you must...I figured everyone would just know what I was talking about), and corny jokes (Gma's favorite kind). Saturday morning the guys - and a few gals - went out for a turkey shoot.
Bryan did better as the guns got bigger. Does that mean anything?

That afternoon we all went bowling and had a great time!
We ate about 20 pizzas (in record time...you should have seen the swarm around the table every time a new pizza was brought out!) and bowled for 3 hours. I am proud to say that Bryan threw the fastest ball (over 26 mph!) and I did not have the lowest score! Zeb even got a few spares. What fun!
That night we had an impromptu talent show...and wow! Our family sure has a lot of talented people. We were all sad to leave the next morning. The party is never long enough!

...to be continued...
