Personality - Let It Shine!

We try and try to get "good" pictures of our children. Honest. It's just that their personalities are a bit too strong and show in every single attempt! We ask them to hold still...say cheese...look at me...blah, blah, blah (I'm guessing that's what they are hearing)...and we end up with pictures that are pretty dang cute. Even if they aren't quite send-out-to-the-family type pictures. They bring smiles to our faces and show us a little bit of what the kids are like. For example: we attempted to get a brother/sister picture at the beach during our family picture shoot...

 ...and got this...

 ...and this...among others.

Abigail posing with her life-size leaf (and apparently life-size tongue as well).

Attempts to get a "nice" picture of Maggie to print and hang on the wall got us these...
"Mo-om...not again...!"

Zeb took over the camera when I couldn't stop laughing (or had maybe gotten frustrated that Margaret wouldn't hold still like any normal 8-month old child) and got this lovely head-shot of Abigail.
Good thing her face is clean and her hair was fixed...ummm...right.

Yet another attempt at getting a portrait-worthy shot of Maggie Belle gave us more smiles.
Maybe not all from her. She was a bit puzzled by the flash...

...until she figured out what was going on. Then the chase began! Do you have any idea how hard it is to stay far enough away from a baby on the loose to get a good picture?! It's harder than you might think...that's for sure! Somehow we still managed to get this cute grin. It's a miracle!

"Aren't you done yet? I'm sure you've gotten plenty of cute pictures since you've taken about 75 in the past 2 minutes!" She might be exaggerating slightly, but probably not by much!

Anyway...who needs a perfect smile?! We'd take personality over smiles any day (except even when we are trying to get pictures for the wall or Christmas cards) - especially when they remind us how awesome and amazing our kids are and what joy they bring to our home every single day.
