March 26 is a special day at our house...Daddy's birthday!! He is such an amazing man, father, husband, friend...you name it. We are so blessed to have him! Because of the timing (in the middle of showing our home to potential buyers) we weren't able to decorate this year.
We still got to have some fun times. We met Bryan for lunch earlier in the week (Zeb was out of school for Spring Break) and still had a family party.
Lots of excitement over presents and ice cream cake!
The kids spoiled him with his favorite chocolates (Cadbury eggs) and some new ties.
That weekend we got spoiled. Gpa and Gma Downs graciously took the kids for a weekend sleep-over while Bryan and I spent the weekend relaxing in Palm Desert.
We met to make the trade (kids and cars) and had some ice cream before the drive...think the kids enjoyed it?!

We spent a lot of time lounging by the hotel pool, walking the streets and window shopping, relaxing in the pool, went to a movie, chilled at the pool. You get the idea. Lots and lots of relax time before picking up the kids. Sometimes that's all you need. Sometimes it's fun to pack a trip with lots of activity and others you just want to wind down. Turns out it was the perfect way to celebrate Bryan's birthday this year. We sure love this guy!
