Last Weeks of the Year

We headed up north to spend Christmas with family this year. We arrived on the last day of the North Pole at Seven Peaks. It was super crowded, super cold (we are officially So. Cal wimps!), and super fun!

We rode sleds down the avalanche trail.

Maggie even rode the sleds up the ramps.

We played in the snow (the kids favorite part!)

We looked at lights and had a great time! Then we went back to Gpa and Gma's house to warm up.

Elizabeth entertained everyone with her favorite facial expression...
Smiling with her tongue sticking out. Seems to be a trend with our kids, even those who are tongue-tied.

We continued the Sagers tradition of ice skating on Christmas Eve. We had so much fun!
Maggie had great helpers the whole time (Gpa and Gma helped with Lizzie off the ice).

Abby started out with helpers, but was soon skating around all on her own!

 Lots and lots of smiles!

Zeb enjoyed help for a bit, but by the end was trying to skate backwards (just like Daddy!). He told Bryan that he couldn't help it (the skating backwards). He said, "My body was nervous, but my spirit was just so excited and had to try it." What an amazing kid we have!

Bryan was his typical fun-loving self and inspired some ice dancing and trick trying.

Thanks to all who came with and helped us have a fantastic experience! Can't wait to do it again.

Christmas morning brought some new and exciting things.
Gma's nutcracker guards kept the kids out of the front room until the grown-ups were ready.

Then the fun really began!

 Fun toys....

New pretty dress...
Maggie...say cheese! *Strikes dramatic pose* Where does she come up with this?!

Tons and tons of snow!

 Snow angels...

 Snow shoveling...

The traditional sled run in the backyard...Yes, I did tip over at the bottom of the run (couldn't disappoint the anticipating onlookers!). Yes, we did have a blast! Yes, we did break all the saucers and had to wait a few days before any stores had any in stock.

Snow forts...

More shoveling (the grass?). Bryan had fun lining the kids up to shower (and potentially bury) with snow from the snowblower.

Gma got a super fun rocking horse! Maggie was an instant pro and loved making the horse sing while she rode.

Again with the tongue. What a cutie pie! Elizabeth was full of smiles and such a joy to have around.

As expected, she enjoyed eating the wrapping more than playing with her new gifts.

 Awww!!

Gpa and Gma Downs gave our family a tetherball pole and glow-in-the-dark ball for Christmas.
Literally, the instant we got home from our Utah trip the kids were begging for the tetherball pole to be put together. One day later...and we got to start playing! They didn't care that it was dark and cold. They just couldn't wait another minute.

We spent the next forever having tournaments and making deals with Zebediah to let everyone have a turn. (He is our resident tetherball enthusiast)

The end of 2015 was pretty amazing.

We spent New Year's Eve playing games and having fun with friends.

Great way to end a great year!
