Spectacular September

Our September started out with a bang. We were lucky enough to find ourselves in Arizona to witness and participate in a wedding for Bryan's aunt. It was such a great time to see family and celebrate such a special experience. We love any chance to spend time in the temple, but a family wedding is just that much more enjoyable.

We took a bit of time to meet up with Michelle and Michael and play at a park in their community.
We had so much fun that we only took one picture the entire weekend. (That's Zeb on the rock in the back...he's still doing well with managing his fear of heights!)

First Responders night at cub scouts is always a bit hit.
We have several first responders in our stake and they are always willing to come talk with the boys. This time around they brought some of their equipment and uniforms for the kids to explore. The kids could hardly believe how heavy the fireman's gear is.

The police motorcycle was a highlight. The officer let the kids push all sorts of buttons.
Smiles all around!

Disneyland fun!
Time for a picture overload. Gpa and Gma Downs took us to Disneyland for our combined birthday gifts. We chose to pick a time when we could go with some cousins. The big kids got to miss a day of school to spend some definite quality family time. We spent the night before in a nearby hotel so we could get to the park bright and early.

Everyone was excited for our adventure!

I sure loved watching some of the rides...
and was so glad Bryan was there to spin the kids around and around until they couldn't walk straight.

There is nothing like waiting in line. It's actually not that bad when you're with such a fun group of people! We rode so many rides (pretty much everything we wanted to that was open that day)!

Elizabeth had stars in her eyes all day. She was frightened on a few of the rides (some of the children rides are a bit dark) but could snuggle up to her ride partner to find her smile again.

Best Buds!

Zeb and Abby paired up with Maxwell and Aiden to go on Space Mountain twice in a row (thanks to a few extra fast passes). The big kids also got to enjoy Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain and more of the bigger rides while the littles got to explore with Gpa and Gma.

She was a bit nervous to ride the horse by herself, but loved every minute once things got underway.

Buzz Lightyear did not disappoint!
Aunt Melanie came away the champion and I didn't have the lowest score (it might have been second to lowest, but still...). Sounds like a win for everyone.

Line time shenanigans!

Small World was Lizzie's absolute favorite ride. She was completely engaged and her excitement quickly spread.

Happy times with my love!

Cousin Aiden and Abigail were ride buddies for most of the day.

We got to meet Mickey Mouse!

We walked through his house in Toon Town

So cool to meet such a star!

Oliver finally took a nap while we were waiting for Pirates of the Caribbean.
Lucky guy was just having too much fun taking it all in.

Bring on the Jungle Cruise!

Late-ish night trip down Splash Mountain left Bryan, and a few others, soaked and the rest of us giggling.

Night time Magic!

One final time on the Small World to light up her eyes!

We ended the day with some souvenirs and falling asleep in the car on the way home. Best Day Ever at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Sunday Smiles!
The little man just lights up our lives!

Bryan was able to take the Young Men on a camp out and hike the last weekend of September.
Just a man in his natural element. Seriously though, Bryan loves working with the youth and being able to take them on adventures.

Never too young to find the perfect pair of shades!

While Bryan was on his camping trip with the young men, the kids and I participated in our annual Stake 5k and Fun Run. The plan was to do the fun run together. I felt up to doing the mile at the kids pace...but definitely wasn't going to run a 5k. I don't do running. It's just that simple.

The race started out as planned. The course was 2 laps around the park. We all started together, then Zeb and Abby took off. Pretty sure they finished while Maggie, Lizzie, Oliver and I had just started our second lap.
Maggie was fun to run with. She would sprint for a bit, then walk for a bit. Then sprint, and walk and sprint and walk. Her methods made it possible for me to keep up with her for the entire mile (may not sound like a big deal...but it was!).

Once we finished the fun run, the group running the 5k started preparing for their race. Next thing I know, Zebediah and Abigail had found an adult to stick near (a requirement for any children running the race) and lined up.
Off they went and off the littles and I went to the playground to wait. Abby did a fantastic job and came in with a time around 32 minutes and Zeb finally rolled in around 43 minutes. So proud of these kids for trying their best and having fun with being active!

We just can't seem to make it very long without a day at the pool. No matter the time of year.

It was quite the month! Full of fun moments, days, activities and adventures.

Super Spectacular!!
