June Gloom and Smiles

June started out a bit gloomy, but that's just fine. It's perfect weather for hiking. We have several hills and mountains nearby to explore.
Bryan enjoys taking the older kids out for adventures and teaching them the joys of being out in nature.

He came. He conquered.

Abigail is always up for an adventure. She climbs like a mountain goat and has no fear.
She is always the first to ask to go along (invited or not). We love her adventurous spirit and energy.

Harrowing? Or is this just an optical illusion?

Zeb tends to be a bit more reluctant to participate, but ends up finding joy once we can get him going.
His love for climbing increases with each outing and his desire to learn more about his surroundings is giving him quite the knowledge base.

What a beaut.

Isn't nature just neat?!

June also means the end of another school year. Yay! Bummer! All the emotions rolled into one.
Margaret finished out the year by earning a character award. She is such a joy and it's fun seeing others experience that joy as well. Maggie thrived in school (as we knew she would) and was super sad to see the end of kindergarten. She did love performing their 50's style songs and getting to dress up "one last time".

Maggie is brave. Maggie is smart. Maggie is the best hugger. We love our kinder grad.

Mr. Cornejo was the perfect teacher for our wild and crazy Maggie. She loved singing songs in class (he plays the guitar for his class to sing along), doing cut-and-paste projects and getting to be a classroom helper.

Abigail was a star in second grade. She is full of questions and loved learning even more about how to find answers.
She is kind. She is smart. She is fearless.

We just love her.

The littles and I took some time to play at the park between all the awards assemblies. No sense in walking home when there is a fun park right next to the school.
The two cuties have so much fun with each other every day, but also can hardly wait for the school kids to come home.

Zebediah was so excited to be finishing elementary school. He really excelled this year and got the certificate to prove it.
He loved having more than one teacher for 5th grade and made many new friends.

He always has a HUGE smile when he gets to see some familiar faces in the assembly crowds. Or after school. Or anywhere, really.

Zeb is friendly. He is brilliant. He is growing in every respect. We love seeing the amazing young man he is maturing into.

The LAST DAY of school!
It only took the entire school year for me to convince Maggie that it was acceptable for me to fix her hair. Maybe next year will be more successful.

Typical.

We made it. Now...onto summer break!

Oliver started things off with a bang...by falling asleep on my footstool. Guess he just couldn't wait for me to not be distracted (with whatever it was) before taking a nap. Oh the good old days when he would nap.
Just too cute.

Bryan went on several hikes with the young men in preparation for their High Adventure camp.

Pretty cool set up for backpacking meals!

Just look at that view! Wow. I mean...wow.

The girls all got summer haircuts courtesy of the amazing Aunt Tiffy.
Again. Wow...just wow. Gorgeous girls.

Maggie got to enjoy an afternoon at this place with friends from school. The picture is there are proof...since she may or may not ever go again. Just saying.

We got to celebrate this great guy! He makes our family what it is. He leads us and guides us. He provides for us. He makes us better.
We love getting to spoil him every so often. We spoiled Bryan a bit early this time around since we wouldn't be home for Father's Day...

We were at Gpa and Gma Sagers house for Father's Day! The kids got to fill out questionnaires with what they "knew" about Gpa Sagers.

We all got a good laugh. Can you tell we listened to some Beach Boys on the drive up? We might have unintentionally influenced some of their answers. Haha.

The kids got to attend a primary carnival. Oliver spent most of his time running around and eating the treats while the others did some super fun activities.
Too fun.
