May Days

May brought all kinds of days with it this year.

Dirty Days
(a.k.a. Father and Sons campout)
Bryan and Zeb went to the annual "man-camp" with our ward and had a great time! Zeb was a big helper in setting things up (for a bit anyway before he got distracted with the stream and friends). Good food, good company, camping...it had it all!

They even coordinated their outfits to be matching. Not really, but it made for a fun picture. The only real difference between the two is the dirt level. One of them had a bit more fun playing in the dirt than the other.

Party Days
(a.k.a. End of School fun)
The kindergarten had an ice cream party/game time the last week of school. We didn't realize it would be first thing in the morning...until we got there to drop Zeb off at school. Luckily we didn't have any other plans and were able to join the party. They had face-painting for the kids, dancing in one of the classrooms (courtesy of a video game - Just Dance - set up on one of the projectors), build your own ice cream dream, and more fun.

It was a blast! The kids all had fun being able to play and load up on sugar...just in time for lunch. Poor teachers!

We were so excited to share the morning with Zeb and his friends at school.

Picture Days
The kids discovered the phenomenon of "selfies". No matter where the phones were put the night before (or at some other point during the day), as soon as Mom and Dad turned their back the kids got to work. Gems were (and still are) found and deleted every day.
This particular gem was a keeper because it documented the very special occasion of Zeb loosing his first tooth! One week - to the day - before school got out for the summer. **Funny tidbit - that tooth still hasn't grown in. He's lost and regrown three other teeth in the meantime. The dentist sees the tooth on the x-rays and says there is nothing to worry about...sometimes teeth just take their own sweet time. Really? Come on, tooth. The waiting game is really getting old.

Maybe sometime there will be an option to lock the camera when the phone is locked? Just a thought...in case any developers ever read this...

Not that we don't love these amazing self-portraits...

...and funny faces...we really do. Just not hundreds every day. We sure do love our kids!

Occasionally we say yes to the constant question, "Can we take a picture?". Don't let Abby's frown fool you. This was most likely her idea. She just likes to make faces. Fun times!

Water Days
(a.k.a. Sprinkler fun)
Lots and lots of fun in the sprinklers! Maggie would occasionally want to join in the fun...and who am I to say no?! Baby jammies are very durable and totally appropriate attire for playing in the sprinklers. Right? Zeb and Abby are such good siblings to help Maggie out and make sure she gets in the water. Hehe.

Crazy Clothes Days (a.k.a. Any day the kids are allowed to dress themselves)
Couldn't resist getting proof of this fashion statement. I felt just fine letting him go to school like this, but Bryan was a bit dismayed that I let him out the door. Long black socks are all the rage...am I right?!

Graduation Day
Zeb made that all-important leap and finished kindergarten. Whew! Never thought this day would come. Actually, he was quite excited about the prospect of being a "big kid" in First grade and being able to play on the "big kid" playground. The put on a really fun program for the parents -- filled with cute songs and certificate presentations. What a fun way to end the school year!

Zeb had a fantastic teacher for his first year of school. Mrs. Savage was great to work with him  (had lots of patience with our young academic who doesn't like to sit still) and he learned so much. He was sad to leave the year behind, but ready for summer vacation. Let the good times continue!
