We are so blessed to have Zebediah in our family! He is the best big brother to his sisters and such a great helper for the parents. He's also a really great kid at school. He loves learning in the classroom and is learning to be a good sport in his physical activities. The day before his birthday, Zeb's school had a track and field event. It was so much fun to go see the kids being so active and loving to be outside. Every child in the school participated in 2 events - a running race and a field event. Zeb came in 3rd place in his heat of the 100 m dash! We always knew he was quick!
His field event was the broad jump (a.k.a. standing long jump). He did a fantastic job and made it to the second heat (out of three heats before a winner was declared). If you can't tell, Zeb is the one in the red shirt that can't seem to hold still (shocker!) and lands the jump perfectly.
I, for one, was very glad that this event was held in February so we only had to endure 85 degree weather as opposed to near triple digits at the end of the school year!
The same afternoon we had some very fun playtime with our friends and neighbors. They have some super fun stomp rockets...and Maggie figured out how to do it all on her own!
Her first few attempts put the rocket about a foot in the air. By the end of our play time she was excelling! Smart little cookie.
February 14th was an exciting day in our house. Mister Zeb turned 7! It's hard to believe that he is really that old. Abigail insisted that Zeb stay in his room in the morning so he could be surprised with his birthday things when he came down. (He's usually the first one up - well, he and Bryan fight for that honor - so it was kind of a hardship for him) He loved all the decor and seeing his presents!
When we asked Zeb what he wanted to do to celebrate his birthday, he chose to spend the day at a park (we let him pick which of the 20+ parks in our city to go to). The kids had a blast playing in the sand, going on slides, swinging, playing on the monkey bars...basically all the fun things kids can do at a park!
Zeb and Abby had fun taking turns being the "engineer" in the train.
Zeb decided to make a sand angel while waiting his turn one time...
Oh the joys of being 7!
Margaret was more than content to play on the slides and swings. We love parks!
That night was had some friends over for cake and ice cream and some games. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting was the request (his words were, "Just like Mother Bear does it for Little Bear" - Little Bear is one of his favorite calm shows to watch). Can you tell he loves chocolate?!
Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like playing some Wii Party with friends! Laughs all around made for a great night.
Just a random picture of Zeb getting ready to leave for school one morning...
...because he's that awesome! We sure love this guy!
