No June Gloom for Us!

Abigail is quite the little homemaker. She started asking what she could do to help me out...so she could learn to be a mom. Heart melting!
She loves be help in the kitchen, she is very willing to help do the laundry, and she even pitches in for the dishes. What a great girl we have!

Elizabeth gets bigger and bigger every day (even if she is taking her sweet time). By June, she was very alert and loved to interact with the siblings. By this point she was approaching 8 pounds (not quite there until the end of the month) and finally fitting into size 1 diapers and 0-3 month size clothes.

We had some fun dressing our little doll. It was just too cute that her hair bows were as big as her head.

We had several "funny face" contests with Bryan. Oh the joys of texting photos!

We spent a good portion of June at our pool and splash park - well, the end of June...after I was ready to start leaving the house with 4 kids on my own. Nothing like playing in the water to beat the heat.

We really did live at the pool. And have every intention of doing it again next summer!

Elizabeth is never short of a playmate. Zeb, Abby and Maggie are all fantastic helpers and love to be right in Lizzie's face.

They also have become really good friends with each other. There are definitely still those fighting moments (but really, which family out there doesn't have any of that?!) but the friends moments are more frequent.
They made a fort/garage out of an old box and played Rescue Bots (age-appropriate transformers) for hours on end.

The smiles just keep on coming!

Margaret decided she wanted to go to our home away from home (the pool...remember?) and took it upon herself to get ready. Sorry sister...panties, floaties and goggles put on haphazardly don't quite cut it. Hehe! "A" for effort.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our daddy around here. Father's Day was a special day filled with surprises, happy songs (at least that's what I was told since Elizabeth and I didn't venture out of the house for anything other than necessity yet), laughter and hugs for our daddy.
Zeb and Abby filled out forms in Primary telling about their dad...
 According to Zeb...
Dad is 32, loves cereal, is so strong he can lift Aiden (who knew cousin Aiden was so heavy?!), likes to go to bed to relax, is best at hugs, and Zeb loves him because he is great (which is so true!).

 According to Abigail...
Dad is 22 (ha!), loves spaghetti and meatballs, is so strong he can lift a table, plays games with her to relax, is the best at picking flowers for Mom (true!) and she loves him because he is funny (also true!).
Do we have smart kids or what?!

We gathered together to have a super fun FHE...bowling with cousins. It was quite the adventure.
This isn't even everyone that was there...but it was the best picture I had to remember the event. All the kids and most of the adults (a few of us chose to watch from the sidelines) played some amazing games and fun was had by all!

Yay for family time!

Since June is considered summer time...we did Summer School! The goal was to sit down for 30 minutes to an hour each morning to spend some time learning/reviewing things that we had learned in school the past year. Not one to be left out, Margaret got some quality coloring time...

...which usually turned into nap time (hooray!). Zeb and Abby loved doing their worksheets in their packets (they got to use dry erase markers, and we all know that dry erase markers make everything more fun) and would occasionally ask when it was time to do Summer School. I tried to rotate through other educational activities so we weren't just doing worksheets every day. Some days we would play games to clean the play room. Some days we would roll the dice and do different exercises depending on the number that we rolled (Zeb had to do the math to figure out our numbers). Some days we took a field trip to the pool (if we weren't going there already). Lots of fun times.

Just a cute picture of the kids waiting on the edge of the pool during a safety break.

The last Sunday of June was a very special day for us. Elizabeth Jane was blessed by Bryan and we had so much family come to support and celebrate!

We love having family come visit...and we love when they eat our "strange" food. We served a Mediterranean meal that people were a little nervous about, but ended up loving

Good memories were made that day!
