The first day of school was a success! We tried getting the traditional "go back to school" pictures before leaving in the morning...and got these.
Zeb was excited and nervous to be starting 2nd grade. Mostly nervous because it was a new school, new teacher, new friends, new everything. Excited because he knew that his new school had tetherball courts and he was in the same class as some of his friends from church.
Abigail was all sorts of excited. She wasn't nervous at all to be starting TK (transitional kindergarten). She was very ready to go to school and see what all goes on during the day. She was thrilled to have some friends from church in her class (always a bonus to know somebody on the first day!) and ready to make new friends.
Bryan went into work late that morning so he could accompany us to the first day. Turns out it was a big help since Zeb wanted someone to wait in line with him and Abigail had to go to the separate section for the TK and Kinder kids.
We love walking to school!
Nervous smile shining through! By the end of the day, he loved school again and has been enjoying it ever since. He is great at making friends and is learning new things every day. He loves coming home to play school and teach his sisters fun facts.
So cool! Abigail's original class ended up getting split into two because there were so many kids. She got put into the class with a new teacher and has excelled. She loves learning and is progressing quite quickly (just like we knew she would).
