Birthday Girl

A full year has now gone by since we coerced welcomed our little darling into our family. Can it really be a year already? Where did the time go?! This little girl brings so much joy to our household. Even if she is stubborn, silly, and very vocal.
For the records...Abigail is still in the 10th percentile on all the growth charts. One small cookie!
Height: 27.5 inches
Weight: 18.8 pounds

As I mentioned earlier...she is very stubborn. Every once in a great while she will let me feed her. More often than not, she has to do it herself! At least she's happy and eating.
 Mess... (trying to share)
After mess... (just spreading the joy)

Sometimes she is silly and stubborn at the same time.
Abby had a very strong desire to have her brother's pirate hat for almost an entire day. As is shown in the evidence that she wouldn't even relinquish it for snack time. Her scrunch face is the current phase. Abigail will scrunch up her little nose and give you the biggest grin! You can't help but laugh along with her.

Saturday was the big day!
We had a little family party in the morning since we had big plans for the afternoon and evening.
We barely got this picture before both Bryan and I blew out the candle...just before Abba's hand reached it. I held the plate near enough for her to see but not touch while we sang, then put it down for the picture. Yes, she had a brownie for breakfast. That's what happens when it's your birthday!

Now for the presents!
Since she's walking, Mom and Dad got her some shoes (Pictured above are her "Nephite sandals" a.k.a gladiator sandals. She also got a pair of ballet flats - seen in the picture with her birthday outfit hanging behind the highchair.).

Gpa and Gma Downs gave her two very adorable pop-up books. She couldn't even take her eyes off of them for a picture!

Gpa and Gma Sagers gave her a new toy! She loves watching the lights flash and the sprockets whirl around. Again...too interested in the new toy for a picture.
Big brother Zeb gave Abs a drum filled with other musical instruments (a tambourine, maracas, jingle bells). What were we thinking?!

That afternoon we headed down to Huntington Beach for a bonfire on the beach with friends. They had planned the bonfire as a 'goodbye to summer' event and it just so happened to work perfectly with our celebration of Abigail. We had so much fun! We took the camera...then left it in a pocket of our cooler the entire time. Smart. Oh well. Next time.
These are just a few pictures too cute not to share.
Such a big, little girl! She looks so grown up - except for the baldness. We're still working on that!
 Pretty Pensive Princess

Again with the scrunch face. At least we got a smile on one of the kids!
