We had an unexpected trip this month. Bryan's Aunt Yvonne passed away in Arizona. As soon as we heard the news we started finding ways to make it out for the funeral. It just so happens that the family lives in the Phoenix area...as does my sister. We coordinated with Bryan's siblings and caravaned with those going (Trevor and his family, Jennifer and her youngest daughter). We drove out to Arizona Friday afternoon and stayed with one of Bryan's cousin's daughter. It was like a big slumber party - having all of us plus a few more family members from out-of-town all stay together. Thanks Katelyn and Dane for hosting us all! The funeral was Saturday morning and it was beautiful. In all honesty, I really don't like funerals. They are so bittersweet (as was mentioned several times this past weekend) and it's like being on an emotional roller coaster. It was very sad to loose Aunt Yvonne but it was so fun to learn all about her life and accomplishments. It is also very comforting to know that she really is somewhere better now...and waiting for us to join her someday.
Abba was showing off her new walking skills to everyone - including us! She would just stand up and walk about 10 steps without any prompting. We'll try to get a video of the cute little girl soon.
After the funeral Bryan and I split ways with his siblings and went to visit Michelle. We had a nice visit at her new apartment. Abigail showed off her new skill and Zeb got into everything possible. Both kids loved Aunt Michelle's holiday toys (courtesy of her job at Hallmark) and we all had fun being together.
We drove home after leaving Michelle's since we had responsibilities at church the next morning. It was a very quick trip...but totally worth it!
We got a few pictures at the luncheon.
Little MJ was having a blast with the cupcakes! It was too cute.
Seriously, Mom...I'm trying to eat!
