This year for birthdays, Gpa and Gma Downs are taking each grandchild to Disneyland - just them and the grandparents. What a fun day! Since Zeb and Max have birthdays so near each other (and they both turned 5!) we thought it would be fun for them to go together. They had a blast!! They got to go on all sorts of rides...Zeb told (and is still telling) everyone about his special day at Disneyland with Gpa, Gma, and Maxwell.
The train was a highlight, for sure!
"Riding the horses was awesome!" (It took us a bit to figure out he was talking about the carousel...haha!)
They got to see lots of characters...
...and even go on the big rides! Both Zeb and Max are on the tall side for their age, so they were able to experience Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, the Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain, Star Tours...pretty much any ride they were interested in (and some that needed a bit of convincing!). We were hoping that spending the entire day playing would help Zeb to sleep in the next day...but no such luck. Even after not getting home until after 10:00 he was still up - bright-eyed and bushy-tailed - at the lovely time of 6:30. I blame Bryan. He's the morning person in this family. He's also the night owl. I'm happy to take the middle-of-the-day slot. Oh well. I suppose it's a good thing to get up and start enjoying the beautiful days we have. Anyway...
While Zeb was away, Abigail and I had some very fun "girl time" which consisted of doing anything Abigail wanted without having to negotiate with her brother. We spent some time playing with friends, painted our nails, played princesses and all things girly.
She is all about playing dress-up right now and loves anything that resembles a "pretty skirt to help her dance", including a pioneer apron that is at least 3 sizes too big for her.
It was a good day for all!
Thanks again Gpa and Gma for such a fabulous day!!
