We went on an adventure with some friends to celebrate Martin Luther King day this year. It was such a treat! Our friends recently moved into our same complex...close enough that our kids yell at each other through the open windows regularly...so we get to spend a lot of time together now. Anyway...we decided to spend the day at the L.A. Zoo! We had a blast seeing all the different animals.
We started out in the petting zoo. The kids loved seeing and touching the goats, sheep, and other small animals.
Zeb couldn't resist climbing on the bulls. Pretty much if there is any possible way to climb on something, he will find it.
Checking out the gorillas!
We tried getting the kids to pose for pictures...
...and this is what we get. We asked them to say "cheese" and what do they do? Strike a silly pose and all say "ahhh" in their wonderful outside voices (with no planning...it was incredible how they all did the same thing!). We love our kids and we love spending time with friends! Zeb and Abby were pretty sad that there were no lions (they still talk about it and ask me where the lions went), but they loved seeing the elephants, giraffes, several types of monkeys, zebras, snakes, and so on. Definitely time well spent.
