One Year Older...

Happy Zeb's Birthday (also known as Valentine's Day)! He's 6!!! This year was his first year having to share his birthday with the holiday...and even then he didn't really have to. They had the day off from school, so he still got to have his special day all to himself. Although, he did think it was pretty cool that they had a day off of school just for his birthday (his interpretation of getting a 4-day weekend for President's Day)! Unfortunately, Zeb spent most of the week home sick with a fever. Fortunately he was well enough to go back to school for their class valentines party - which meant we had to mass-produce valentines.

Turned out crazy cool if you ask us! Crazy straws...get it? Haha?!

Friday morning the kids were up early enough to celebrate (translated as open gifts) before Daddy had to leave for work. What a fantastic way to start the day!
Kind of got spoiled this year. I suppose we say that every year, but just can't help it again the next year.

Loved his gifts sent from the Sagers clan (the wrapping paper was a huge hit!) - a super cool bell for his bike. He plays more with the propeller (it's from Planes) than the bell, which we don't mind one bit.

New shirts...since he obviously loves to wear them.

Abigail picked out the gift she wanted to give her big brother...and she did well. He's been asking for this particular Rescue Bot Transformer for almost a year now. Lucky she loves him so much!

A new bike! Well, technically it isn't a bike, but don't tell him that. He LOVES his new rip-rider and asks every day to go for bike rides. One perk of living where we do...we go for bike rides year-round.

Maggie couldn't keep the grin from her face while we were riding around the tennis/basketball courts later that morning. She sure is a happy girl! And her grin is so contagious!

Since Zeb had the day off from school, we took a little drive out to Bryan's new office and had lunch with him. So cool to spend some time with him during the day. His new office is quite close to the Redlands Temple, so the kids asked if we could go see it on our way home. Of course! I was so excited that they asked and loved answering all of their questions.
Taking a break by one of the fountains.

Zeb captured this stunning image. Wow.

Taking another break at the fountains. It was pretty hot, so dipping their hands in the cool water was very refreshing. I got a special treat when all 3 kids fell asleep on the drive home! It's really not that long of a drive, but it was long enough. Of course, they all woke up as soon as I parked in the garage, but I'll take what I can get.

After we got home Zeb got to talk with several family members who called to wish him a happy birthday. He loved getting all the attention (even if he didn't sound too thrilled to be talking on the phone - he's just that way) and having a special day. All in all Zeb had a fantastic day. We sure love him!
