Zeb started 1st grade in August! He was so excited to be one of the "big kids" at school. He got to pick out his backpack and lunch pail (last year's didn't survive) and he chose a Bumblebee backpack with a Spiderman lunch pail...nice! Bryan was able to go into work late that morning so he walked with us to school. Special way to start the school year!
Big smiles when he saw some of his friends from kindergarten were in his same class again! Zeb instantly fell in love with his teacher, Mrs. Leopoldo, and is doing really well in school. He loves to play school at home (especially at bedtime - some stall method!) and pretends to be Mr. Leopoldo while teaching his sisters.
Daddy having some fun while waiting for the classes to go in to the classrooms.
Abigail is still loving all things dance, gymnastics, and now yoga.
She is constantly prancing, dancing, stretching, posing, and so on and so forth all around the house. She has succeeded in passing that love on to Maggie so they keep us (and each other) entertained with their antics.
Margaret loves the camera! Anytime she can she smiles, laughs, makes faces, tries to grab...you name it and she does it for the camera.
What a little cutie we have for a third!
August also meant lots of beach time. Perfect weather, smaller crowds (smaller than the previous summer months that is) and good company. Uncle Gregg spent the Summer/Fall months in California doing an internship and would occasionally come down to spend a weekend with us.
Zeb is getting big enough to play with the big boys and loves every minute of it!
Playing in the waves and digging in the sand never get old!
Maggie is so fond of food...she is even willing to take breaks at the beach for a little (or a lot) sustenance. She's even getting the hang of eating without covering it all in sand first. Yay!
Abigail. What more needs to be said? She is so full of energy and attitude. Love her!
Another first, third, and so on of August was a trip to the dentist.
Abigail was the special one that had her picture taken since it was her first trip. The rest of us didn't feel the need to document such an activity. She was so excited to get to pick the flavors of her toothpaste and flouride rinse! Zeb was excited too...this was a fun feature at our new dentist's office. Why don't they offer that for the adults? I would totally pick something other than the usual mint that isn't really mint. Anyway, the trip was a success. No cavities, Zeb's missing teeth (he'd lost 4 by this point) were showing up on the x-rays and clean smiles all around.
Yet another August activity that we enjoyed more than once this year was a trip to the drive-in movies. We love sitting in the car, eating snacks, and watching fun shows. Good way to get out of the house as a family and still get a date night out of it! (We put the kids to sleep after the first movie while we enjoy the second). Hooray for new and old activities!
