Conference, Coloring, and Cuteness

October started out with a new venture. We had heard of a few fun ideas for watching General Conference with young children and decided to try a few. This year in preparation, we read the story of King Benjamin teaching his people from a high tower. The people had all gathered with their tents facing the tower to hear the words from their prophet. We put up our tent facing the TV to watch and listen to our living prophet...just like the people in the story!
The kids loved it! We also do treat buckets where we let the kids pick the topics to listen for. Each time they hear the chosen topic they get to have a treat from the bucket. Mixing up the sweet and salty treats was a great way to keep their attention (and ours!) without becoming too hyped up.

Big smiles all around during that fantastic weekend!

The coloring bug has struck once again! Not quite sure what the fascination is, but our children love to color themselves.
At least it was only dry-erase crayon this time...and not permanent marker like big brother!

And again! This happened a few times during the month (either in the car - who knows how that happened since crayons aren't allowed in the car! - or while I was teaching piano lessons and unable to fully supervise their mischievous actions).

With all the pictures of the middle sister being taken (thanks to her creative cuteness), the other two were getting jealous. We just had to get some cute pictures of them too!
 "My turn, Mom!"

"How can you resist this smile?!"

Cute action shot while in the waiting room for a well-child dr. visit taken by the previously mentioned cute middle sister.
