April is a great month for birthdays! At least that's what our girls tell us. Miss Margaret Belle turned 3!
She was so lucky to get donuts for her birthday breakfast before sending Dad to work and the big kids to school.
She got to help decorate our dining room to celebrate.
She helped draw/cut/glue her number, wrote her name on a paper chain, and told me exactly where to hang everything. Seriously. I tried to do it on my own and she "corrected" my work. What a cute character!
After everyone came home for the day, we got to open her gifts.
She was spoiled and loved everything! Her very own glowworm!! Her very own bag of Cheetos!! Her very own art kit (coloring book, crayons, stickers)!!
Fun toys, cute clothes, and fun pictures from Utah family!!
Maggie is growing and learning every day. She is a fantastic little and big sister (for the most part...she has her toddler moments, but the good outweighs the not-so-good by far!) and is so loving. She is very quick to give hugs (not kisses...she wipes those off and runs away) and tickles. She loves to laugh. She is very creative. She is very, very talkative and loves to be friends with everyone. We sure love her!!
Super fun toy!! Now comes the fun part of sharing it with the family.
Little Liza Jane turned 1!! How can this be?!? She was just born yesterday. This year has been a time of amazing growth for her. Maybe not literally (she is the size of someone half her age), but it is still true. At her one-year doctor visit, we learned that she is 16 pounds (which puts her at the very bottom of the growth charts...but she's finally on the chart!) and is growing steadily. She is very strong, very observant, and funny to boot. She loves music and will stand up to dance anytime she hears a song. She loves to play and interact with her siblings. Elizabeth babbles for hours (minutes might be more accurate) on end. She coos, growls, sighs, and just has fun making sounds.
She loves to climb on anything and everything, her sister included!
She's been going up the stairs for a month or two by this point. We're still working on coming back down, but she's starting to get the hang of it.
She has never, ever liked to eat baby food. I'm guessing it's a texture thing (really, who likes everything to be all mashed up?!) because she loves to eat. She gobbles up almost anything that is put in front of her. She prefers to eat by herself.
Occasionally we can get away with feeding her, but there is also a good portion of the time that she throws a fit until we cave and just let her do it.
It was finally present time! Lizzie was having so much fun with all the attention throughout the entire day.
She started out in the highchair...
...but was soon on the table with her "helpful" siblings. Cute clothes, fun toys, snacks, what more could this wonderful one-year old ask for?!
Cake. That's what she asked for. In her own special way, of course. Since she is kid #4, this isn't her first exposure to cake. We tried (kind of, but not really) to have her wait. Then we realized the futility and just said, "Oh well. She doesn't know any different".
She was mesmerized by the candle. Bryan had to keep moving it out of her reach to avoid burns.
Finally it was time to dig in. She knew exactly what to do!
She even licked the plate when she was finished. That's dedication for you! We are so blessed to have Elizabeth as part of our family. She is a pro at giving snuggles. She loves life and helps us feel the same.
Hooray for birthdays!
