Is It Summer Yet?!

Once June comes along, it just seems right that Summer is right around the corner. Luckily, we only had 1 week of school left. Both Zeb and Abby received awards during the last trimester!

Perfect attendance for the trimester and character awards. Good job sweetie!!

Perfect attendance for the trimester and excellent classroom behavior. Wonderful job buddy!!

Nothing like a little pool time after school to unwind and just enjoy the day.

We might have been avoiding some door-to-door salesmen who just wouldn't take no for an answer one of the days (seriously...when nothing else works we just don't go home, hehe!), but I'm sure we would have been at the pool anyway.

Nothing says we are ready for summer like days at the pool (except for the fact the we go year-round, but who's keeping track?!).

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

Abby excelled in kindergarten. She is an amazing reader (she passed off all her kinder sight words and almost half of the 1st grade sight words!), super smart in math, and the most creative 6-year old we've met. She loves spending time being creative with any type of art/craft material and will take her time making it exactly the way she wants it to be. She is super friendly and was a great helper for her teacher.

Zeb did amazing in 3rd grade. He really improved in all academic areas (some were a bit more of a struggle than others) and is really learning that it's okay to take his time and not race to be the first done. He is super smart with his math facts, loves to read (we're still working on the concept of not taking a reading test before he reads the book...he just loves to find out the information and doesn't always want to take the time to read the whole book), and really enjoys learning science facts. He wants to be an inventor when he grows up so he can do experiments all day long. Zeb is a friend to all and really improved on following the teacher's instructions the first time. He loved having PJ day and a movie party for the last day of school.

Abigail had a performance and small awards ceremony (they don't do an official promotion at our school - yay!) for completing kinder. They set their songs to a 50's theme. So cute!

It was so fun watching the kids perform and seeing the love and devotion their teachers have for them.

Abby got the "Yo-yo award" for always being a great helper for her teacher.

Abigail was in tears having to move on to the next grade because we just love her teacher that much. Abby keeps reminding me that it's a good thing her teacher just lives down the street from us so we can see her any time. What a sweetheart!

Summer break also means summer outfits and shoes (since anything worn during the school year was nearly, if not completely, worn out!).
Good looking group! Now, if we can only get these to last until winter time...I know, asking for miracles...

It also means summer haircuts.
Maggie decided that she wants to grow her hair out again (she has had and will continue to have many discussion about who exactly is allowed to use scissors on hair - only Aunt Tiffy and Uncle Paul, our resident hair experts!) so she's gone from a pixie to a super-de-duper cute bob.

Zeb wouldn't go for the buzz cut this year, so Aunt Tiffy worked her magic and made his just as handsome as ever!

She also cut mine into a super cute a-line, but being behind the camera (and not very proficient at selfies) means I don't have a picture. Oh well. I know how cute it is!
