We absolutely love holidays! Mainly because that means that Bryan gets to stay home from work and get some quality family time...but we also love to celebrate. This past weekend was so much more than we could have hoped for. We got to be surrounded by family nearly the entire time! **Side note - Bryan was able to come home from Boston a week early, making the holiday (and the week before) even better! And he should be posting more pics from his trip soon - hint, hint, Bryan!**
It all started Friday with a trip down to La Jolla to spend time with Ashley, Jordan, and Kimball...the newest family members to join us in lovely So Cal. We had so much fun at the beach and their home afterward for lunch (thanks again by the way!) that it is definitely a repeat! Sad to say we didn't get any pictures...next time for sure! Following the morning/afternoon at the beach Bryan, his dad, and two of his brothers got to go to a MLB game (LA Dodgers vs. SF Giants) at Dodger Stadium. Thursday at work Bryan was offered 4 tickets...and who would even think of turning them down?! Once again, no pictures. We just forgot to send the camera with Bryan - oops!
Saturday we got to participate in the baptism of Kylee!!! She is such an amazing and sweet girl. We are so glad she made the choice to be baptized. Once again, however, no pictures from us. There were plenty taken...just not with our camera. Thanks Kylee for giving us yet another reason to celebrate!
Sunday was our relax day...and finally pictures!
Monday we were once again invited down south to spend time with the Downs clan. Bryan's sister (and her neighbors) throw an amazing Labor Day party every year. They rent an inflatable water slide, close off the cul-de-sac to cars and have a great BBQ. Lucky for us they invite friends and family that don't live in the neighborhood!

Zeb and Daddy just chillin' after a very good day at church. Zeb went to nursery without putting up any fuss - and kept his pants dry the whole time! He was in a pull-up just in case, but stayed dry anyway. We try not to interrupt him during nursery time because he has a tendency to not want Bryan to leave again (I teach Primary and am therefore unavailable to take him potty in between classes). What a big boy he's turning out to be!
Daddy loves to read now that he's discovered Louis L'Amour books! Add to that the fact that reading is so much more enjoyable when it is not assigned...
Zeb just being his normal adorable self. Not much more needs to be said about that!
After relaxing for a bit we took a drive up Mt. Baldy. The view was beautiful, the weather was amazing (about 10-20 degrees cooler than down in Rancho even though it only took us 30-45 minutes to get to the top from our home!) and the "hike" was a blast!
Zeb absolutely loved hiking and throwing rocks. Really, what little boy doesn't? Too bad we couldn't just keep up with him, running up the mountain. Daddy did pretty good, but they had to stop and wait several times for Mommy to catch up.
What a handsome pair!!

Daddy and Zeb had a blast on the slide. Zeb was a little anxious at first, but eventually decided it was fun going down with Daddy! Zeb really enjoyed playing at the edge of the pool at the bottom.
With the road closed the cars, the kids (and adults) could go wild on scooters, plasma cars, rip sticks, bikes, and anything else they could find! Zeb loved to follow Daddy around (Daddy on a rip stick and Zeb on a plasma car).
The slide had "adults-only time" for a bit and all the kids sat at the bottom and cheered on their favorites (the ones who would do tricks and make the biggest splashes). I'm proud to say they cheered for Bryan! In fact, his splashes were so incredible that I got absolutely drenched while trying to take a picture. No worries though...the camera is just fine! (Not to mention it felt great getting splashed since I couldn't go down the slide)
Zeb and Max loved just sitting in the girly jeep while taking a short break from running around. At one point it looked like they were trying to make repairs - they were lifting up the hood - but other than that they were just being cute.
Thanks again Fifields and crew for letting us crash your sweet party!!
We finished off the fun-filled weekend with a family car wash. Can you still call it a car wash when only a motorcycle gets washed? Anyway, Zeb loved being his Daddy's big helper through it all!
He may have ended up with more water down his front than actually on the bike, but he sure did try! Funny note, he did try to climb into the water bucket but we caught him just in time to prevent an unscheduled bath.
Scrubbing the bike side by side. Makes me proud to be the mommy and wife of such hard workers. Besides, aren't we taught that working together brings a family closer together? It sure is true in our case! As you can tell we did a lot of working this weekend...and yes, playtime counts! Playing all weekend is definitely hard work!
