Christmas Party Time

We did it! We somehow convinced Zeb to talk to the Jolly Red Man. A small confession...he wasn't asking Santa Claus for gifts. He was showing Santa how to work his little key chain flashlight. I tried to prepare Zeb to meet Santa this year. We read books about Santa, we watched Mickey Mouse save Santa, we watched the Backyardigans save Christmas from the Abominable Brothers...and even did a special "Santa call". Goes a little something like this - "Santa! Santa! Ho, ho ho!". While Zeb still doesn't quite get the concept, we did make excellent progress from last year's attempt.

Christmas Party 2009.  One unhappy little boy.

Christmas Party 2010.  One content little boy.  Maybe by next year this will read, "One excited little boy".  Who knows?

Our Primary children put on a Nativity program for us.  They were so precious and really helped to bring the true spirit of Christmas to our activity.  They had prepared for a community Live Nativity put on by our stake and used our ward party as a final dress rehearsal.  I'm sure glad they did!  We also watched a video presentation depicting events from the Savior's life.  What better way to truly get into the Christmas Spirit than to focus on the Savior?

I'm predicting that next year you will have "one excited little boy," along with "one unhappy little girl"--by then Abigail will be at that perfect age when Santa will scare the pants off her!
