Holy FREEZING Cold Vacation, Batman!

We had so much fun on our most recent expedition to the land up North!  It all started on Friday night (the 19th) when Bryan got home from work.  He got home at about 9:30 and said, "Let's just pack up and leave tonight" instead of waiting until the next morning as originally planned.  And so we did.  Zeb surprised us by refusing to go to bed that night.  I had been trying to get him to go to bed since 8:30 and he just would not stay in bed, leave his light off, go to sleep, etc.  He was just so excited for the trip!  See if I even mention it to him before it's time to leave next time!!  While we were trying to pack and leave he entertained us by running back and forth (Bryan and I were in different rooms preparing things) and saying, "Hi Daddy...Bye Daddy!  Hi Mommy...Bye Mommy!".  He was only in the room long enough to say the appropriate greeting/farewell then would be off again.  Anyway, long story short, he finally fell asleep when we left our house at 12:30 am.  We played games, we danced (Alison actually won a dancing game at a combined Sagers/Anderson family gathering.  Believe it...it's true!), we laughed, we slept, we watched football, we ate, we attended an amazing wedding, we slept, we ate, we played games, we laughed...the list continues. We are so grateful that we could travel for the holiday and for Phil and Mandy's wedding!  It really was a fabulous week!

Zeb got a turn with the camera...and got a great pic of Uncle Gregg.

One of our million attempts at a decent family picture...

 I'm seeing a pattern here...

The Happy Couple!  Beautiful reception and an even more beautiful wedding the next morning! Phil married into an incredible family (and we are so glad to add Mandy to ours)!  **One funny note** Bryan is remembered for saying "I Do" at our wedding (you say "Yes" in the temple) and Phil will now be remembered for correcting their sealer.  Phil was paying enough attention to the ceremony to notice one phrase being left out on accident...what groom does that!?  We all remember being so 'deer-in-the-headlights' during our weddings that we were shocked that he paid so close attention.  He is one amazing brother...that's for sure!

Trying to get a full family picture.  Always an adventure when my children are involved.  I suppose it should read "when my child is involved" since Abigail isn't really old enough to cause too much trouble yet.  Zeb was so unwilling to cooperate that it took twice as long as usual to take the pictures.  Of course, after our turn was finished he was all smiles, saying "cheese" and trying to get in the other pictures.  Funny kid!

Just chillin' while pictures were being taken before the reception started.

Our smaller family.  Apologies for the lighting, but it was the best of the pictures as far as our faces.

Sisters!  If we weren't all different, you might think we were quadruplets...okay...not really...but we sure did look good that night!  In Rachel's defense...she doesn't normally stand like that.  Zeb was pulling at the back of her dress during this picture.

Handsome boys all ready for church!

Not to complain, but we sure did miss the warm sunshine while we were there (warm being the key word in that sentence!). Going from temperatures in the upper 60's and lower 70's one day to temperatures ranging from the 30's and mid-teens the next is a very drastic change. Zeb was wearing layers while playing outside with his aunts and uncles, Bryan was wearing layers in the house, Alison and Abigail stayed bundled up (not in layers) in the house. We were almost adjusting to the freezing temperatures when it was time to come home...almost...not really.
The uncles got Zeb all dressed up to play outside...Zeb had so much fun being dressed up that he didn't even want to shed the layers once they came back inside!

Can you guess which one is used to the frigid temperatures and which one was in shorts the day before?  Just goes to show that you can be happy and have fun no matter what the temperature!

Snow!!!  Zeb was so thrilled to wake up Sunday morning to snow!  This was his first experience that he remembers with snow (he had a few adventures when he was younger, but it had been a while).  He was once again dressed in layers and allowed outside.

They started to build a snowman...then got distracted by the trampoline.

Insert here an amazing video of Zeb playing on the trampoline...that refuses to upload. Hopefully it can be shown soon!

Zeb couldn't figure out why he kept slipping...and why everyone thought it was so funny.  He sure had fun, though.  When it was time to pack up and leave for home Zeb started crying and refused to leave.  He ran to the kitchen to start playing a game instead.  We eventually got him into the car, but not without tears and a struggle.  He was not ready to leave all the fun family!  I'm sure it didn't help that we had decided to, once again, drive through the night.  This time to avoid a coming storm.  Once we got home he remembered that we have lots of fun family here too and wasn't so sad anymore.  Although, Monday morning on the way to the grocery store he did ask if we were going the Gma's house.  He asked the same question when we went to check the mail this morning...someone must be going through some withdrawals.  I suppose Mommy is pretty boring after being surrounded by so many fun people...which means we need more visitors (hint, hint)!

It was so fun to see you guys! And it was so comforting to learn that I wasn't the only one who completely and totally believed a certain person when he said that he was getting kicked out of Russia. High five, Bryan!
