October Baby

Our October baby isn't really a baby anymore! Abigail turned 5 and reminded us every day leading up to her birthday that she would be 5. Abigail is constantly amazing us with her wit, wisdom, and wiles. Rarely does she just sit still. She is very active, very artistic, and very astute. She loves to dance and play, distract and pester her big brother, and basically just bring joy to our family. We are super blessed to have Abigail in our family and can't wait to see what this year brings for her!

All the excitement must have gotten to her...making her do silly faces instead of smiles. That's the excuse we are going with this time, since it honestly happens every single time the camera comes out.

Waiting until Daddy got home from work to celebrate felt like torture, but she survived and kept the smiles going.
Finally it was time to open gifts.
Fun movie from siblings (3 Ninjas!)

Puppy purse from Gma and Gpa Sagers (she tries to sleep with it every night - we have to say no because of the long handle being a choking hazard)

New princess pjs...and her favorite gift that she was stoked about (we only got videoes and no pictures)...a long board! She had been asking for her very own skateboard for at least a year and we finally caved. She took it out that very night, even though it was super dark, and got her first lesson from Daddy.
Turning 5 also meant that Abby got to have her first "friends" birthday party. It was kind of a flop (literally...only 2 friends could come) but she had fun anyway.
We painted faces, decorated Olafs, played toys, opened gifts...

...had a Frozen feast (not pictured, but they loved it) and just had fun.

The next day, Abigail started planning her next party (little does she know, it won't happen for a few years). Happy 5 years to our little spitfire!

Carving pumpkins also happened near her birthday. The kids picked their designs and did some of the work...
 "Eww! Gross! It's slimy!"

"I love this!!"

Bryan took over the pumpkin duties while I helped the littles and not-so-littles clean up and get ready for bed.

...and then he tried to scare them. What a nice daddy! We love October!
