I completely forgot to post the kids school pictures!! They turned out pretty perfect if you ask us.
Abigail insisted on having her hair curled and wearing it down...too bad her class had their pictures at the end of the day. We still think she's gorgeous (it's from eating all those oranges)!
Zebediah is as handsome as ever, even if he wasn't too sure about giving his real smile for the camera.
The first day of December started out "stocking countdown to Christmas". The kids got their new Christmas pajamas after eating their dinner (that's the rule...they have to eat their dinner to get the stocking surprise).
This really is the best picture of them all together. Haha! The girls in their matching snowman jammies and Zeb in his Avengers pjs. Happy as can be.
We spent our Family Home Evening decorating our tree. The kids were all great helpers getting the ornaments hung!
Zeb was a big helper to get the star on the tree.
We LOVE Christmas season and all the fun things that come along with it.
Perfect bedtime
What says "bedtime" better than jumping on Daddy?! This is how we calm down and prepare for a good night's sleep - getting all of our energy out by wrestling. Good times. Good times.
This is a perfect picture of how I satisfied my sweet tooth all month long. Batch after batch of Great-Grandma Riopelle's toffee. I kept meaning to give it away...but kept eating it. One bite at a time turned into half a batch pretty quick! Next time we'll give it away faster (maybe).
Perfect picture of Maggie's personality. Crazy happy all the time. We love her!
We had a visit from Santa at our ward Christmas party. The kids were very well behaved and we had fun celebrating with our ward family. We even got smiles from all 4 kids!
Abigail has been working really hard on learning to write her letters. She practices all the time by writing notes to loved ones.
Zeb has been practicing being nice to his sister. He does random acts of kindness for her completely unprompted by us.
Like this note that he made for her at school one day!
We went to our city tree lighting this year (mostly because I was playing the piano for our Stake choir that was performing) and had a great time. They had all sorts of activities for the kids (and grown-ups) to do, as well as several local performing groups.
Then Santa drove up on a fire engine and turned on the lights of the tree.
What a fun way to spend an evening.
December marked the end of the first trimester of school. Both kids were up for awards, so we (the littles and I) got to go and see their big smiles at getting recognized for being amazing. Abigail got 3!
Abigail was awarded for Perfect Attendance and Outstanding Citizenship and Character. She is such an amazing little girl. Her TK (transitional kinder) teacher just loves her to pieces and is always telling us how much she loves having Abby in her class. She is a great friend and helper in the classroom. She loves to learn and loves being at school.
Abigail was the student of the month for November! We are so proud of her for being herself. She has a talent of bringing out the good in everyone around her.
Zebediah was awarded for Perfect Attendance. We were so excited to make it through the entire trimester without having any sick days! Zeb is a great student and is making several new friends in his class this year. We are very proud of what he chooses to do.
The Christmas program was so fun this year! The grades were all at different times, so we (the littles and I) had the privilege of staying for 2 hours to watch both Zeb and Abby. Luckily, they were back-to-back so we didn't have to go home and come back. Abby's class sang 3 songs and did the cutest dance to a song about learning how to write letters.
Front and Center...that's our girl!
Zeb's grade recited a poem, did a dance and sang songs. It was very fun to watch his performance. Back Row for our tall guy!
Zeb was in top form that morning and did a fantastic job with all he had prepared.
**One downer of the event...Maggie threw up right in the middle of Zeb's performance. Fortunately, I was with some friends so they stayed with her while I ran to find someone from the school to call the custodian and clean up the mess. All the parents were very VERY kind and understanding (a few said they exact thing had happened to them at least once) and the situation was resolved quickly. Unfortunately, the sickness wasn't just a fluke and it passed through our entire family over the next week.
The kids thought it was kind of cool that we had them sleep in the bathtubs instead of their beds while they were sick.
The week before Winter Break (3 weeks!) began was spirit week at school. One of the days was "Ugly sweater day". We don't have ugly sweaters (and I really didn't feel like going out to buy any) so we improvised.
Zeb's sweater says, "Ho, Ho, Ho, and all that" and Abigail's sweater says, "Merry and Bright".
Crazy faces to go along with the crazy sweaters. Really, what else is new with our kids and pictures?
Seriously?!?!?!
This perfectly sums up Maggie. Being quite ingenious to get anything she wants when I am occupied or distracted with anything else (usually Lizzie). Thank goodness she has amazing balance and no fear. Otherwise we would have added several Urgent Care visits to our stories instead of just documenting her craziness.
