We got to spend Thanksgiving with some very special people this year! We joined up with Bryan's siblings who were still in town (some traveled to the non-Downs side of their family this year) and had a blast! So much fun, that we didn't take any picture on the actual day. We were too busy making memories...or so we claim. We all gathered at Uncle Trevor's house (we included our family, Uncle Jason and Aunt Jen's family, and Aunt Melanie's sister Christie and her family) for so totally yummy food and good company. We tried out a few new recipes this year and they just might have to reappear next year! (Corn casserole, banana pudding, and pumpkin cheesecake...yum!) It is always so good to take time and remember what you are truly thankful for. We LOVE this time of year!
The next day (since all us ladies weren't too exhausted from Black Friday shopping) we headed down south a bit more to the Point Loma tide pools. Being the super-prepared parents that we are...we left our kids shoes at Uncle Trevor's house and their jackets at Uncle Matt's house (where we slept). Good thing it was a sunny day!
Zeb and Abby were too busy having fun to care about not having shoes on...they loved looking for the different marine life that can be found in tide pools. **Zeb is terrified of crabs at the moment (thanks for that Uncle Gregg!) so he was a little leery when we would tell him we saw a crab. After repeatedly reassuring him that he only had to look - not touch - he got over his fear and enjoyed the adventure.**
Looking good, hon! (He was talking...not making a face...just so you know.)
Off exploring while waiting for the grown-ups to finish eating lunch.
Good thing our kids love to climb!
Even after having his pants rolled up so they wouldn't get wet Zeb insisted on holding them even higher. Oh well. He ended up getting completely soaked when he slipped and fell in one of the pools. Oops! He still kept the smile on his face. What a trooper!
Precious. Daddy and his girl.
More exploring...
...and more!
Abigail got a ride all the way back to the cars from her awesome cousin Aiden! The best part...he wasn't even asked to help her...he went over to her on his own and asked her if he could give her a ride. What a great cousin!! All-in-all a fabulous day!
