You may not believe this...but we found snow here and were freezing in the process! It might not look like much to those who live somewhere that actually has a winter climate, but to us it was a perfect family outing. We went up the mountain (about a 20 minute drive from our home) with the plan to go for a short hike.
The kids were too excited about seeing snow to actually get further than about 200 yards from our car...and we were too cold! Who knew there would be almost a 30-degree temperature difference from our home to our destination?!
Even though we didn't make our hike, we still had a fabulous time being on the mountain, seeing the snow, and enjoying nature. Next time we'll go earlier in the day (when we parked the log that is the backdrop for the kids was in the sun...by the time we walked to it, it was completely in the shadows) and dress warmer...but that's for another day.
